This scholarship was established for Kerr County students in memory of Freddie Hawkins, who devoted his life to youth through his summer camping profession as well as through volunteerism with youth in the Hill Country community.

Eligibility
Applicant must be a student currently graduating from a high school in Kerr County: Center Point High School, Ingram High School, Our Lady of the Hills High School, Tivy High School, and Hill Country High School. Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.0. Applicant must provide two letters of reference from non-family members with application submittal. Applicant should exemplify good character, integrity, responsibility, and leadership. Scholarship is paid out over two years; recipient must remain a full time student and should maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA.
Selection Criteria
Selection is based on academic and extracurricular achievement, community service, and financial need. Recipient must be accepted full-time in an accredited college, university or trade school before award decision. The scholarship award is null and void if not accepted within one year of award date.
